Starting Chase Your Sky

Published on April 29, 2025

The start of Chase Your Sky wasn’t a grand plan—it was a journey, an evolution born from challenge, reflection, and an unexpected connection to the world around me.

Like many, the pandemic changed my life in ways I didn’t anticipate. Working from home in investment management, I fell into a routine that, over time, became harmful—poor diet, little movement, and a lifestyle that led to serious health issues. Hypertension, sleep apnea, and feeling winded after just a short walk were wake-up calls that something had to change.

So I started small. Walking. One step, one block, one day at a time. At first, it was grueling, and progress felt slow. But tracking my steps, ensuring each day built upon the last, gave me momentum. I listened to audiobooks to stay engaged, but eventually, I realized I was missing something—the world around me.

That’s when photography entered the picture. I started taking snapshots during my walks, capturing whatever caught my eye. At first, my photos weren’t great, but something deeper was happening: I was engaging with my surroundings in a way I hadn’t before. I wasn’t just walking anymore—I was observing, connecting, appreciating.

A year passed. I lost nearly 90 pounds, my health improved, and my photography became sharper. More importantly, I had found a rhythm—an appreciation for the quiet moments, the changing light, the way the sky itself seemed to shift and inspire.

Then came one morning when the sky was particularly brilliant. I lost myself in the walk, chasing the golden hour light, capturing the hues that felt almost unreal. When I finally checked my phone, I had wandered much farther than planned. A meeting loomed in 30 minutes, and I was two miles from home. As I rushed back, I texted my mother, sharing the morning’s shots and laughing at my own absentmindedness.

Her response? A simple laugh and a playful nudge to hurry home.

Mine? An offhand remark: "I could get lost all day chasing the sky."

And in that moment, the seed for Chase Your Sky was planted.

Chase Your Sky is more than a brand. It’s a mindset. A reminder to embrace the journey, to find inspiration in the unexpected, and to keep pushing forward—step by step, moment by moment.

So here’s to chasing your sky. To finding brilliance in the everyday. To pursuing resilience, creativity, and connection.

Let’s chase it together.
